How to Calm Down Our Nervous Systems

…and boost our immune systems during these prolonged uncertain times.

Feeling stressed, worn out, overwhelmed, angry, frustrated, scared? Holding down your feelings? Barreling through or pushing on? Well, that’s taxing on our nervous systems – especially when it’s over a prolonged period of time. Let’s all come together for some well-deserved healing of our bodies, minds, and spirits so we can stay healthy and strong.

Living in the moment

Meditation offers a calm respite in a world full of noise and distraction.

Meditation grounds the mind and the intellect and provides us with the experience of living in the present without critical thinking or habitual reaction. As we learn to be calmly present, we are blessed with the gift of mindfulness, an experience that eliminates judging and self-criticism and imparts insight and wisdom into our selves and the world around us.

Meditation can help relieve stress, ease chronic pain, anxiety and depression, boost immunity, aid with sleep, and improve self-esteem. My daily practice brings me peace, focus, and gratitude, too.

Testimonial Quote Graphic

Who better than the Dalai Lama to reinforce the power of meditation? He was asked, “How do you find the time to meditate when you have an extremely busy schedule?” The Dali Lama replied, “When I am extremely busy I have to meditate even more.”

Group Meditation

Group meditation provides exceptional benefits to the practice. In our busy lives our best intentions often get lost in the undercurrent. Becoming part of a group helps us commit to a daily practice. In a group, the power of meditation is amplified because the energy resonates and your individual practice deepens.

Meditation benefits the individual yet within a group that power is amplified, especially if the group has been cultivating its practice for some time. We can experience tremendous healing when the group’s energy surrounds and supports us. One’s individual practice deepens in this group field. Regardless of how often you participate, your individual practice will become deeper and more fulfilling.

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
